Description
A rich and hearty classic lasagna filled with layers of meat, cheese, and marinara sauce.

- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef and sausage in a skillet over medium heat; drain the fat.
- Add marinara sauce to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Add 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese and then 1/3 of the meat sauce.
- Repeat the layering process two more times, ending with meat sauce topped with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes; cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
