Classic Margherita Pizza

Description

A simple and delicious Margherita pizza with a crispy crust, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Combine the flour, yeast, salt, olive oil, and warm water in a bowl.
  3. Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a round shape.
  6. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  7. Spread the sliced tomatoes over the dough.
  8. Add the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves.

Notes

For a crispier crust, bake directly on a pizza stone.
